Mother of Pearl
It is a public building including a café, reading area, and children’s area. The design of the building is a combination of symbols from the ancient Qatari past and modern style. The building will incorporate symbols such as the pearl, traditional patterns, old swimming items, and the nine triangles of the Qatari flag.

VCUQ Reception Desk Deisgn

Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. The colors used throughout the space are the VCU logo colors and this helps celebrate the VCU brand. The focal point of the space is the reception desk.

Additionally, a display shelf has been added where students can display their work. The reception desk has the VCU logo and the colors of the brand’s logo to help guide the visitors when entering to focus on the desk. Behind the reception desk the space is outlined with a black color and a hidden storage shelf has also been added that has an acoustic fabric material. The panels on the ceiling have also been inspired by the VCU logo colors in a gradient method.
